For people who run coding agents

Agent Notch

A fuel gauge for your AI limits. Every agent's quota, live, on the edge of your screen, so you see the wall coming.

Windows · open source (MIT) · no account · macOS in progress · What's new

Install in one line

Paste this into PowerShell. No admin rights. It installs the notch and starts it.

Prefer npm? npm i -g agent-notch then notch. Start at logon with notch autostart.

A glance, not a dashboard

A slim pill sits on the right edge of your screen. Each ring is one agent. It stays out of your way until you need it.

Live quota rings

Session and weekly limits for each agent, read the same way its own CLI reads them. Hover for reset times.

Warned before the wall

A ring turns amber, then red, and you get a notification when an agent crosses your alert threshold.

Sees who's working

A ring glows while that agent is busy, so you can tell at a glance which session is still running.

See it work

Five-second loops of the real notch.

Warned before the wall

The ring goes amber, then red, and a notification tells you which agent is close.

Waiting on you Pro

When an agent stops to ask you something, its ring lights up and you get an alert. Pro also tells you when an agent is done.

One click, back to work Pro

Hover a ring for reset times. Click it and that agent’s terminal comes to the front.

Works with the agents you already use

Live quota where there's a real source for it. Other CLIs get an icon and the activity glow, never a made-up number.

Claude Code OpenAI Codex Gemini / Antigravity Cursor Grok CLI OpenCode Go + Aider, Copilot, Amp, Goose, Cline, Windsurf and more (activity only)

Free for the glance. Pro for the jump.

The notch stays free and open source. Pro is for when you want the notch to take you to the work, not just show it.

License key by email. Download from your Dodo customer portal.

After you buy Pro

Checkout is by Dodo Payments. Once you pay, Dodo emails you your license key. The Pro download, a zip file, is in your Dodo customer portal: sign in there with the email you paid with. If the email isn't there within a few minutes, check spam or promotions.

You need Windows 10 or 11 and Node.js 18 or newer.

  1. Download the zip. Open your Dodo customer portal with the email you paid with and download the Pro zip from your order.
  2. Unzip the folder. Anywhere is fine. Downloads works.
  3. Double-click install.bat. It copies Pro to %USERPROFILE%\tools\agent-notch-pro, installs it, starts it and adds it to Windows startup. If the free Agent Notch is running, Pro replaces it.
  4. Enter your key. Right-click the Agent Notch tray icon, choose "Enter license key...", and paste the key from your purchase email.
  5. Turn on the alerts. Open Settings and click "Install agent waiting hooks". This lets Claude Code, Codex, Gemini and OpenCode tell the notch when they are waiting on you or done.

Two computers, and offline

One key works on two of your computers. Pro keeps working for 7 days offline. The license is checked once a day.

Updates

Download the latest zip from your Dodo customer portal and run install.bat again.

Questions

Does it send my data anywhere?

No Agent Notch account and nothing sent to me. It reads the sign-in your agent CLIs already keep on your machine and asks each provider for your usage the same way the CLI does. The activity glow uses process and file timestamps only; it never reads your prompts or transcripts.

Does it work on Mac?

Windows today. The macOS port is in progress; the platform groundwork is already in the code.

Will the free version stay free?

Yes. The notch is MIT-licensed open source. Pro adds new features on top; nothing in Free gets taken away.

Is Pro a subscription?

No. You pay once and keep Pro, with updates. The first 100 buyers pay $5; after that it's $9. One license works on two of your computers.

Where do I get Pro after buying?

Dodo Payments emails you a license key right after you pay; check spam or promotions if it hasn't arrived in a few minutes. Download the Pro zip from your Dodo customer portal (sign in with the email you paid with). Unzip it, double-click install.bat (needs Windows 10/11 and Node.js 18 or newer), then right-click the tray icon, choose "Enter license key..." and paste your key. Steps are in After you buy Pro. Stuck? Write to adityaryawork@gmail.com.

What happens to Pro if I'm offline?

Pro keeps working for 7 days without a connection. The license is checked once a day.
